Description
A centre for contemporary culture in rural Nottinghamshire, The HopBarn’s events space supports exhibitions and live performances from a mix of new talents and established artists, with a focus on the environment and sustainability.
This is the perfect location to experience art and explore issues revolving around nature. Extensive work has been performed to establish a private wildlife sanctuary with a self-sustaining ecology and a diverse population of 71 species of birds.
Practitioners of visual arts, theatre, music or dance can rehearse uninterrupted in a performance space with plenty of natural light and pleasant underfloor heating. You can also nourish your curiosity in a private library collection of 350 art books and 157 dance and film DVDs.
The HopBarn also provides a 3-bedroom self-catering rural retreat open to all, with priority given to artist residencies. Stay and experience 24 undisturbed hours to work, relax, or explore ideas in serene isolation. Your residency will also include private access to the nature trail, making it perfect for COVID shielders.
To maintain the wildness of this land, the HopBarn is closed to public access except for periods of exhibitions and arts trail. However, those who would like to visit during non-exhibition period can book a prior appointment by emailing info@thehopbarn.org.uk
